Khalid Lorenzo “Man Man” Parker was born March 23, 1994 in Cleveland, Ohio to Derek Khalid Parker and LaNay Parker. He attended Wellsburg Primary. While living in Wellsburg, West Virginia, he watched his father work hard to provide for his family and understood hard work at a very young age.
His mother, coming from a great home and family, provided a sense of stability, boundaries, respect and loyalty. His father’s real-life wisdom and ultimately growing up in Morgantown, West Virginia would round out the young man that Man Man would become. It was there he attended Woodburn Elementary, Suncrest Middle School, and Morgantown High School.
Growing up he was a natural athlete and excelled in all sports. Man Man played football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and hockey. He was a natural talent and shined always on and off both field and court. He loved to swim and skate board.
He was always fascinated with music, even at a young age. As life continued, it was clear that his passion was his music. His energy on the stage was amazing. As with his sports, his natural ability commanded the main stage. That lit his fire, hence the stage name, “Flame”. He put everything into his music. He had been so diligent in his efforts. He had spent time in LA working on his music and his music videos are left for all of us to cherish for a lifetime.
Man Man cherished his children, and worked very hard to the best of his ability, no matter what he had going on to make sure their interests and well-being was protected. With the help of his mom, he held strong to those relationships and exhibited his family’s values in full display. He himself was very much so a Mama’s boy. He was his mama’s baby boy and he let the world know it. His comedy made your insides giggle and your outside want to curse him out, his mom would say. His silliness was infectious, and he was always talking mess about someone (about you, lol). The greatest thing about him was if he was talking about you, he was saying it directly to you. Very much like his mother, he met no strangers. When asked, most people would say when referring to Man Man “Good people, good vibe”.
He was sissy’s boy as well. The bond between him and Liea and their love for one another was displayed through their love for each other’s children. Not only were they a great brother and sister to one another, they were a great aunt and uncle as well.
Khalid Lorenzo was preceded in death by his grandparents, West and Loretta Lee, and his uncle, Freddy Barbee.
He leaves to mourn and cherish memories his children Lillyanna, Lincoln (Kasey) and Lorenzo (Angel); his father Derek Khalid Parker, his mother LaNay Parker, his sister Khaliea “Liea” Parker and sisters Shakira and Shawntaja Allen; nieces LaKyha “LaLa” and Lovieonna “Lovie”; nephews Louis “Grasshopper” and Lebron “Bron Bron”; Grandmother Sharon Barbee (Greg), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and bros.
Sweet to the core, his friends loved him and even his foes loved to be in his presence. At this time in his life he resided with his girlfriend Kasey and their two children. On Sunday March 22, 2020 at 4:19pm at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, Khalid Lorenzo “Man Man” Parker ended his life’s journey here on earth.
