Terry Lynn Lipscomb

January 17, 1956 ~ January 24, 2018 (age 62)

Terry Lynn Root Lipscomb, age 62, of Morgantown, passed away late Wednesday evening, January 24, 2018 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a valiant battle with breast cancer.

She was born January 17, 1956 in San Antonio, TX, a daughter of Charles Edward and Catherine Dean Howell Root of Morgantown.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Craig Robert Lipscomb; one son, Matthew Craig Lipscomb, his companion Charlene Fox, and their two children Peyton Lipscomb and Ty Fox; two brothers, David Allen Root and his wife Dana, and Jame Brian Root and his wife Robin, all of Morgantown; one nephew and three nieces.

Terry was most recently employed as a teachers aide at Eastwood Elementary School. Previously, she had been employed as a school bus driver in Monongalia County. She greatly loved her time working with special needs children.

Terry loved being at her camp in Bemis, where she would spend a lot of time with her family and friends. She enjoyed arranging her family functions, and going on beach trips.

Terry’s request for cremation has been honored by her family.

Friends may join the family to honor her life and legacy at Goshen Baptist Church, 1070 Goshen Rd.,Morgantown on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Later in the spring of 2018, she will be inurned at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in her family plot.

Flowers will be accepted at the church. However, the family prefers that contributions in her memory please be made to Making Strides of North Central WV, C/O the American Cancer Society, 122 S. High St., Morgantown, WV 26505. Please be sure to specify that your donation is for Making Strides.
