January 27, 1955 ~ July 2, 2018 (age 63)

Priscilla Ann Johnson Steed, age 63, of Fairmont, departed this life on  Monday, July 2, 2018 at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, WV.

She was born January 27, 1955 in Fairmont, and was the daughter of Ethel Lee Fox who survives her in Fairmont, and the late George Cosby Johnson

She is survived by her husband Joe Steed of Fairmont; three sons, Robert Carter, LeVar Carter and Robert Carter, III all of Fairmont; one daughter, Nila Hudson of Fairmont; two grandsons, Kordell Carter of Morgantown and Jayvion Phillips of Fairmont; one granddaughter, Taysia Carter of Morgantown; two sisters, Brenda Lumpkin and Hollis Cook both of Fairmont; one brother, Gordon Farmer of Ohio; five nieces, Robin Cook of Auburn, WA, Phyllis Moore and Raye Savage both of Fairmont, Janine Etsano and her husband Omsan of Columbia, MD, and Linda Lloyd and her husband Eric of Hampton, VA; two nephews, Dennis Lumpkin of Charlotte, NC and Ron Cook of Fairmont; a host of cousins and a special friend, Lois Moore of Fairmont.

Ann was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and West Virginia Junior College. She was employed as an Administrative Secretary Senior with Fairmont State University for 30 years.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fairmont, where she served as the Church Clerk, former Sunday School Superintendent, Deaconess and Pastor's Assistant, with the Mission Society and sang in the Church Choir.

She was President of the Marion County NAACP, and a member of the former IBPOE of the World #37 Auxiliary. She was also a member and Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star  Ruth Chapter 34 in Fairmont, past Grand Associate Matron of the Grand Chapter.

She enjoyed doing word searches, painting by numbers, listening to music, traveling, dancing, attending various church events, and being among her family and friends.

Friends may join Mrs. Steed's family to honor her life and legacy at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 135 Maple Ave., Fairmont, where she will lay in repose on Tuesday, July 10th from 5-8 PM and again on Wednesday from 11 AM - 12 Noon. Her Home Going Service will begin at 12 Noon Wednesday  in the church, officiated by Reverend Wesley Q. Dobbs and with Reverend Dr. Mark Staples serving as Eulogist. Following the funeral service, she will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

The Order of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter 34 will hold a Memorial Service Tuesday evening in the church.
