Doris Steele Staddon Brown, age 88, of Morgantown, was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior after a long illness on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Sundale Nursing Home.

Doris was a 1947 graduate of Morgantown High School and a member of the Sabraton Baptist Church where she held several offices and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was also a past member of the Goldie Bailey Mission Society.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald R. Staddon, Sr. and Robert W. Brown; her parents, Ray and Mary Tanner Steele; a brother, Theodore “Ted” Steele, and grandsons Robert E. Rice and Tyler B. Smith.

Left to cherish her memory and benefit from her love and service are her sister, Margaret “Lil” Bezjak; sons, Donald R. (Donna) Staddon, Jr. and E. Alan (Gretchen) Staddon; daughters Joyce C. Baily (George) and Vickie L. Rice (Eugene); 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may join the family to honor Doris’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave. Morgantown, on Sunday, July 1st from 6-8 PM. On Monday, July 2nd, Mrs. Brown will be moved to the Sabraton Baptist Church, 1641 Sabraton Ave., Morgantown, where she will lay in repose from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastors Scott Whetzel and John Altizer officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.

Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home. However, those desiring to make a contribution in Doris’s memory may do so to the Bereavement Fund at Sabraton Baptist Church, 1641 Sabraton Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505.
